Memories

Joe McIntyre was my brother-in-law and part of my family for 25 years, so I have lots of stories. The trick is to pick which one to share! Should I talk about the many Thanksgivings we spent together? If the McIntyre Molloys were coming to my house I knew to leave the potatoes for Joe to peel as I would get scolded if I didn't leave them for him to do. I also knew to leave the TV downstairs turned to a football game so Joe could sneak down and watch a bit. I knew there would be an epic football game in the afternoon, and that Joe would be a team captain. He was fiercely competitive! Joe was the perfect dinner guest, because he really appreciated and praised the food. After dinner there would always be a game. Joe was the best of us at Encore (a game where you had to sing songs with certain words). He had a store of songs he knew well from rock to Irish protect songs. But whatever game we chose he was one of the first to show up ready to play. Joe was devoted to his wife and kids and was so proud of them all. He was also involved in the lives of all his nieces and nephews and gave them all lots of love, attention and great advice. Whenever our families got together it was a party! We'll miss you so much, Joe - it won't be the same without you. With all my love, Maureen
