Condolence: MaryJane, John, Randy, Paulette and all the grand and great grandkids...so many memories...from the first time I placed my daughter's hand in your Mother's and introduced Stevi to Janie before the first day of school in September of 1976. Asking her if it was okay that Stevi went to 1st Grade, but could I please stay and continue to volunteer in Kindergarten...fondly....I spent six years in kindergarten with your Mom. I'll never forget the day she called me and said the S.V.E.A. needed someone who cared and would I run for School Board ! Times up at the cabin in Wind Gap....she never knew it, but that was the first time I'd ever had a s'more ! Your Dad and Mom teaching the three of us the South American card game Mau Mau...that was the forerunner of Uno....and I still have those directions in your Mother's handwriting in our corner cupboard drawer. All the nights we would play cards, share meals at their kitchen table. I treasure the Leo Buscaglia book, "LOVE" and the inscription she wrote to me from them on my graduation night from NCC. I know she liked that I thought of changing the name of Lower Saucon Nursery School to Red Door Pre-School....and she loved the years Owen spent at Red Door with Bette and I. All the memories of Bear Creek and their beloved, "Mountain Home." The times she and I would lunch together when Steve and your Dad would go golfing. The times we went to church together in Lehighton. No matter what was happening in our lives, the four of us always were able to connect and share our love for each other. Once they finally were able to identify that your Mom had M.S. and had been battling it undiagnosed since 1966...your Mom didn't miss a beat...she was never bitter, even refusing an experimental program that might have helped her M.S. She told them to give her spot to someone younger that her. She would always tell people about her blessings...not her hardships. I could go on and on...but this is a good place to say....what a gift and a blessing your Mom was to our world. We will miss her....but when I look at the painting she gave to us for Christmas....she gifted us with an original Jane Breininger...the wooden shoes on our wall and the picture we have of them in front of the fireplace at Bear Creek....your parents love will live in our hearts forever. We were so blessed to have the gift of her friendship and then theirs and yours....and we know when your Mom made her way to heaven, your Dad was waiting for her in his car !! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you...love....as always....Clare and Steve
