James C. Kniess Sr., 90, of Hellertown, passed away on August 5, 2017. He was the husband of the late Grace (Meilinger) Kneiss. Born in Center Valley, he was a son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Szipf) Kneiss. He served his county honorably in the Navy during WWII. He worked as a mechanic and field service representative for Giles & Ransome Inc. in Allentown for 30 years, retiring in 1990. Prior to that he worked for the Glascow Company for several years. He was a member of Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 of the American Legion and a life member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Spring Valley Sportsman Club.

Survivors: A brother, Lawrence of Center Valley; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, James Jr. and siblings: Frank, Rose, Anna, Mary, Theresa, Joseph, Stephen, Michael, Albert, and Robert.

Services: Viewing 10:30 to 11 AM, Wednesday, Falk Funeral Home, 1418 Main St, Hellertown, PA 18055, services 11:00 AM. Interment, Hellertown Union Cemetery with military honors.
