Obituary for Barbara Deming Bray (McKaraher)

Barbara Deming Bray, 91, of Green Lane, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Joshua Carter Bray. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late William and Jesse (Deming) McKaraher. In 1967 she graduated from Ursinus College with a BS in Psychology. She went on to Bryn Mawr College where she received a Master’s in Child Psychology. Barbara served on the Green Lane Marlborough Council and during her tenure she was instrumental in bringing sewer services to the Borough. She was a longtime volunteer for Grand View Hospital and knitted many hats for the Maternity Ward there.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Moore and her fiancé William Thornton of Chico, CA and Carol Bray, wife of Dr. Norio Azumi of Rockville, MD; her son, Dr. William Bray and his wife Catherine of Winston-Salem, NC; and grandchildren, Sean, Tess, and Jessica.

A Celebration of her life will be held at 10 AM on Saturday at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St., Pennsburg, PA 18073. All are invited to gather with the family from 9 am. She will be interred privately with her husband in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia.
