Condolence From: Matthew Farrey
Condolence: Lots of love to Deb, Brian, Allie and Maddie during this difficult time. I remember some interesting conversations with Art, particularly out at the old house in Grafton many years ago. He was an interesting man who had a long and wonderful life.

Condolence From: Lucy Allen
Condolence: My deepest sympathy for your loss. I will miss his phone calls. He was my neighbor for many years at Promenade West. But he is now with Marge. He longed for that day. And I am happy for him. God bless you all.

Condolence From: Lynn A. Harrell
Condolence: Saddened to read of Art's passing in the local paper today. Even the sincerest words of condolence seem inadequate to convey the depth of loss his family and friends are feeling. I had the privilege of working with him on his second book, "A Promise Kept," so I find solace in knowing that he's reunited with his beloved Marge for eternity.
Rather than praise the man for his multiple talents, good character, humor and wisdom (although all true), I offer these words from the ending poem in his first book, "Once Upon a Rhyme."
Excerpt from: "The Last Trip North"
"The arch through which all pass
to never more return.
Time now to sing a final hymn,
to then wax taciturn.
Or-- perhaps brief eulogy,
if so prone, alas what's done is done,
the race full run;
the shroud at last full sewn.
So a final time we send our love.
But, as spirits now,
we guide and guard you
from above.

Condolence From: Jeanne Spica
Condolence: I am so sorry for your loss. Art was a special person. I first met Art at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church at GriefShare where I was a small group facilitator. He was a gifted poet. I have both of his books. On many a special occasion at church he would have a special poem he had written. He will be greatly missed.

Condolence From: Mary Grace Patterson
Condolence: Art was a former member of the Peace river Writers of Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, Fl. He was respected and well liked by his peers. Art had a special way of conveying, humor, whit and knowledge to others in an intellectual way that we all enjoyed. Our writers group really missed him when he moved north. I bought two of the books he had written and enjoyed them immensely. I wrote to him numerous times at his new residence. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. I know he is at peace now with his dearly departed wife who he missed so much.
We are sending our heart felt condolences and prayers to all of you. May God keep your entire family in his tender care.
Blessings, Mary Grace Patterson & family
