Pennsburg

John and Amy Hunsberger purchased a home on Main Street in Pennsburg and converted it into a comfortable family funeral home.  He and his wife operated the Pennsburg home until 1974, when John suffered a stroke.  The business was sold to Michael Zimmerman, who continued operation until 1982, when Franklin and Betty Falk purchased the home.  They continued operations with the assistance of their son, Frank and his wife, Donna.

In 1999, after purchasing the Shelly home on the corner of Second and Main Streets, Pennsburg,  Frank and Donna  completed a major expansion and renovation project that joined the original funeral home to the Shelly home.  Interestingly, both structures had been built by Charles Haring, a prominent builder in the area.  Both structures contained classic American Four Square architectural details, such as stained glass windows, pocket doors, and chestnut trim, that are maintained today.

The funeral home contains a spacious entry and foyer area that doubles as an art gallery featuring local artist.  A comfortable chapel can be used for either funeral or memorial services.  It is light and airy.  There is a special area for children, as well as several rooms for friends and families to gather.  Our goal is to offer you the most comfortable setting for a very difficult time in your life.
