Bernard J. Krokus Sr., 93, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 10, 2017. He was the widower of Josephine (Rosati) Krokus to whom he was devoted to during their 55 years of marriage before her passing in 2003. In recent years, he was fortunate to be the companion of Agnes Furhosel of Zionsville. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. Following his service, he worked in construction before becoming a salesman for Allentown Beverage Company and wore that red blazer with pride. After his retirement, his love of golf had him working at the Bethlehem Municipal Golf Course for over 20 years. He was hard to miss in his golf cart and big straw hat chasing down those violating the course rules. There is no doubt that he could be larger than life. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Bernard Jr of Bethlehem, PA, who was his devoted care-taker in the last few years and Bruce “Rocky”, of Oregon; a daughter, Beverly Hughes of Georgia; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a brother Edward of Bethlehem and his many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Veteran's Association, 416 Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40202-3386.
